Why We Built TasksFlow

Every team deserves a task management tool that doesn't fight back. Yet most tools fall into two camps: too simple to handle real-world developer workflows, or so complex that onboarding becomes a project in itself. We started building TasksFlow because we were tired of tools that slowed us down.

The Gap in the Market

In our past roles, we noticed a recurring theme. Startups would begin with simple tools like Trello. They loved the visual simplicity of cards and columns. But as soon as the team grew past 5 people, they hit a wall. They needed custom fields, task relationships, subtask hierarchies, and role-based permissions.

So, we would migrate to heavier solutions like Jira or ClickUp. While these platforms are incredibly powerful, they brought a massive cognitive load. Configuration took weeks, pages loaded slowly, and the UI felt cluttered. The team spent more time updating tasks than actually doing the work. We wanted the middle ground: powerful enough for a fast-growing 50-person engineering team, but clean and fast enough for a 3-person startup to set up in 5 minutes.

What We Built

To hit that sweet spot, we focused on three core pillars:

• Instant View Switching: Switch between Kanban, List, and Calendar views in under 100ms. No reload, no spinner.
• Rich Text Everywhere: We integrated a premium markdown-supported rich text editor directly into descriptions, comments, and project briefs. No more plain-text limitations.
• Real-Time Synchronization: Driven by WebSockets, updates are instant. When a teammate drags a card on a Kanban board, it shifts on your screen immediately with no layout layout shifting.

Our Pricing Philosophy

We believe per-seat pricing models create the wrong incentives. They force managers to decide who gets access and who doesn't, locking out support staff, interns, and clients. That's why TasksFlow is flat-priced at $8/quarter per workspace with unlimited users. We grow when you grow, not because you added another teammate.

What's Next
