Notifications Done Right

Project management systems are notorious for generating noise. Write a comment, change a tag, assign a subtask, and suddenly your inbox is flooded with dozens of generic emails. Over time, users block out these notifications entirely, missing critical updates. We designed TasksFlow's alert system to be high-signal and low-noise.

The Thin Line Between Helpful and Annoying

We believe notifications should be contextual, bundled, and quiet by default. When you are focused on writing a feature, the last thing you need is a real-time email digest telling you a card was moved from "In Review" to "Done." Here is how we design for quiet productivity:

• Activity Batching: If a colleague makes five rapid edits to a spec description within 3 minutes, we batch these into a single notification event. No more five separate alert boxes.
• Smart Mentions: You only get immediate push/email notifications if you are @mentioned directly or if a task you are explicitly assigned to receives a comment.
• Visual Digests: Instead of immediate emails, we offer a daily email digest summarizing what happened in your projects. It arrives in your inbox at 8:00 AM, clean and ready for your morning standup.

Inside the TasksFlow app, the notification panel functions like an inbox. You can mark alerts as "Read" or "Archive" them, just like email. You can filter alerts to show only direct mentions or thread replies. This gives you a clear workspace to review what requires action and clear the rest, ensuring you never miss a real blocker.
